12 Year Tax History

Some say Gloucester Township’s property taxes follow a strange rhythm. Check out these charts showing tax trends over the years. Elections in Gloucester Township happen in odd-numbered years, and during those election years, taxes tend to stay flat—almost like clockwork. But in even-numbered, non-election years, we often see big increases. All this has unfolded under David R. Mayer’s administration since he took office in 2010. Is it just a coincidence, or could there be more to it? Take a look at the images and decide for yourself—what does this pattern mean for our township?

Mayor Mayer’s GT property tax increases far exceed the NJ law that is supposed limit tax increases to 2% per year. Instead of working hard to avoid tax increases, Mayer uses every loophole in the book to exceed this 2% cap.
